Flensburger yard number 738 is a Flensburger Con-Ro 220 built
for Belgian short sea shipper Cobelfret for service between the
UK, Scandinavia and continental Europe.
Flying the flag of Luxembourg, the steel cargo / Ro-Ro vessel
was built under survey to Lloyd's Register with the class notation:
"+100 A1 Roll On / Roll Off cargo ship, NAV 1, IBS, I.W.S., ICC,
+LMC, UMS, Ship Right SCM, L1".
The vessel has an overall length of 195.4 metres and a length
between perpendiculars of 186.22 metres on a beam of 26.2
metres. It has a design draught of 7.05 metres and a scantling
draught of 7.4 metres and a depth to main deck of 9.65 metres.
The vessel has a scantling deadweight of 14,800DWT and
boasts 2,907 lane metres.
'Mazarine' is powered by a single MaK 12VM43C main engine
rated at 10,800kW at 500rpm and has a service speed of 18.5 knots.
The vessel has two auxiliary engines, each rated 1,190kW,
two generators developing 1,300kVA each, a single 3,750kVA
shaft generator and a 339kW emergency generator. A 1,800kW

The vessel has a starboard access ramp 15.6-metres wide by
15 metres with a three-metre flap and a portside ramp 4.4
metres in width.
Flensburger claims all of its Ro-Ro vessels are designed to deliver
fast, economic service with maximised cargo areas, high service
speeds and low fuel consumption.
It operates a core fleet of 29 vessels specifically designed for the
short sea Ro-Ro trade, occasionally supplemented by time
chartered tonnage, which accommodate trailers, containers,
vehicles and other rolling equipment.
