treatment, PacificBeam Shell III is a paint additive that has
performed successfully in 12-month trials, effectively
preventing hull fouling.
Anti-fouling treatments address the adherence of marine
organisms such as barnacles and various bacteria to ships hulls
which can cause drag at sea (thus costing money and fuel) as well
as the risk of introducing such organisms to other marine
environments where they act as damaging pests.
While many anti-fouling treatments contain heavy metals that
pollute the environment and accumulate along the food chain,
this non-metallic, biodegradable paint additive uses small organic
molecules to prevent unwanted organisms from adhering to

Medical Corporation in line with SIAA standards and RoHs/ELV
PacificBeam Shell III uses only marine-friendly anti-microbial
minerals to keep ships’ hulls clear of algae, shellfish and barnacles
for a minimum of two years after application.
Tolerance tests have shown that plates coated with PacificBeam
Shell III reveal no alage or barnacle attachment even when moored
in the sun or left in seawater for up to twelve months.
The secret is in the use of “PB Micropores” which help the
Pacific Beam Shell III maintain its stable configuration and reduce
anti-microbial and oxidation effects significantly.
The process of barnacle attachment involves the adherence of
organic substances (protein) to the hull, allowing bacteria to
breed and then slime and sea algae to adhere. With this
nutritious environment, cypris larvae are able to breed and begin
to adhere to the hull by excreting cement. Cypris larvae then
grow up to become banarcles, and breed rapidly with adjacent
barnacles. Through its strong antimicrobial effects, PacificBeam
Shell III eliminates bacteria, resulting in preventing slime and sea
algae from adhering, thus blocking cypris larvae from growing
PacificBeam Shell III can be mixed directly with most preferred
marine paints (not acrylic, enamel or lacquer). There is no need for
special self-polished or hydrolytic cleavage paints – cutting paint
consumption costs in half.
PacificBeam Shell III can be applied in any area where there is
algae or shell attachment, including: ships’ hulls and surfaces;
thermal electric and atomic power plant seawater pipes; piers,
pontoons, marine buoys and rigs; just about anywhere that algae
grows and shellfish attach.
